Description: The legend of St. Hubert tells of the hunter tracking a deer in the forest on Good Friday, while the faithful were attending church. As he was pursuing a magnificent stag the animal turned to face him, a crucifix appearing between its antlers. Hubert heard the voice of God and long story short, found a new appreciation and respect for animals as God’s creatures. Our deer is handsome indeed, and one can imagine the cross appearing in the space between his antlers.
