Description: The Roman God Bacchus (known in Greek mythology as Dionysos) is the god of wine, feasts, pleasure, orchards, and fruit. In this whimsical mold, he is depicted as a human king, straddling the top of a wine barrel, contemplating the glass in hand. A garland of leaves and fruits weaves from one shoulder to his waist, and over his right leg. He wears a similar small laurel style garland as his crown, yet his shoes and cropped pants are definitely those of a mortal French royal. Perfect for wine afficionados and Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday) celebrations. Beneath the barrel is "Vive le roy" (Long live the king) which in this case can be interpreted as a reference to either the man or the wine.
