Description: The Roman God Bacchus (known in Greek mythology as Dionysos) is the god of wine, feasts, pleasure, orchards, and fruit. In this whimsical mold, he is depicted as a human king, straddling the top of a wine barrel, contemplating the glass in hand. A garland of leaves and fruits weaves from one shoulder to his waist, and over his right leg. He wears a similar small laurel style garland as his crown, yet his shoes and cropped pants are definitely those of a mortal French royal. Perfect for wine afficionados and Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday) celebrations. Beneath the barrel is "Vive le roy" (Long live the king), a tongue in cheek reference as it can be interpreted as a reference to either the man or the wine.
